The aesthetic compositions of light and color of Paul’s images comes from a life of working as a fine artist, trained as a painter at Arizona State University with a BFA and working as a Art Director for 17 years in the Graphic Design field he now dedicates all his efforts to creating a clear vision of a place and time in his travels throughout the back roads of north America.
Paul’s photographs have appeared on the cover and pages of Arizona Highways magazine, calendars and books along with Natures Best magazine and many scenic publications, calendars and books as well as displayed in fine art galleries. A native of the Arizona desert, Paul Gill concentrates on nature’s intimate slices of life and grand landscapes working now primarily with a Canon 5D & 5D MKII Digital camera's, Paul's landscapes are captured with the Canon TS-E 24mm, 24-105mm & 16-35mm lenses. Wildlife images comes from a Canon 100-400mm and macro work from the Canon MP-E 65mm. From 1988- 2008 Paul worked exclusivly with a wood 4X5 Wista field camera and Pentax 6X7 II medium format camera, along with Fujichrome Velvia and Kodak VS films for superior sharpness and intense, vivid colors.
